The first vineyards were planted in the Cucamonga Valley un the 1830's and it was an agricultural mecca until Prohibition and urban expansion began overtaking the vineyards. The Lopez Vineyard is one of the last remaining large vineyards in the area. It was planted to Zinfandel and Palomono in 1918 on deep sandy soils. These organically-certified, bush trained vines have grown un-irrigated for the last 100 years and produce intensely flavored Zinfandel with firm tannin, balanced acidity, and red-fruit flavors. Aged in 25% new American oak. 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast
From a historic area that was once one of California's larger vinelands, this bottling offers intense aromas of extracted blackberry on the nose. The palate delivers a fresh purity of fruit, conveying black plum and more blackberry.
