California has been slow to embrace Spain's beloved Tempranillo. This is a shame because Tempranillo lives between the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the elegance of Pinot Noir. We believe it thrives in both the high desert vineyards of the Antelope Valley and the warmer locations in Santa Ynez. This vintage is blended from Tempranillo sourced from two vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley and picked at the peak of ripeness. Aged for two years in 25% new American oak barrels. Blended with 2% Alicante Bouschet for aromatics and 1% Petit Verdot for structure. Black plum, cocoa, cedar, and firm tannins with a balanced acid profile that makes it perfect for pairing with food or enjoying on its own.
