Classic Ballard Canyon Syrah sourced from the easternmost vineyard in the appelation. Picked at the peak of ripeness. Fermented for 14 days with 25% stem inclusion. Blended with 5% Petite Sirah and 5% Grenache. Intense aromatics of olive and white pepper with dark fruit on the palate. Aged 2 years in a combination of neutral and new American oak barrels for 2 years. 100 cases produced.
Muddled blackberry, cocoa and torched walnut aromas show on the nose of this bottling, which includes 5% Petite Sirah and 5% Grenache. The palate is rugged in style, with brawny berry, smoked meat and charcoal flavors, as acidity lingers into the finish.
